Cyclist Safety

Promoting Safer Streets and Smarter Logistics

With 1 in 5 fatal cycling accidents involving heavy goods vehicles, proactive safety management has never been more critical. At Alandale Logistics, Cyclist Safety is a core element of our Logistics Planning Process integrated into every project we deliver.

For over five years, we’ve worked closely with key industry partners to design, implement, and continuously improve measures that protect vulnerable road users while supporting safe, efficient site operations.

Our Commitment to Cyclist Safety

Alandale’s approach combines planning, technology, and education to reduce risks at every stage of construction logistics.

We:

  • Collaborated with the Transport Research Laboratory (TRL) as part of their Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for the Construction Logistics & Cyclist Safety report.

  • Delivered one of the first Construction Logistics Plans (CLPs) to be formally approved during planning for Sir Robert McAlpine’s Croydon Civic Offices project.

  • Developed a Contractors Handbook summarising key CLP requirements, ensuring every subcontractor understood and adhered to safety protocols.

  • Featured in TRL’s study as an “exemplar” project for effective cyclist safety integration.

Setting Industry Standards

Through our continued work with leading contractors and authorities, Alandale Logistics remains at the forefront of promoting safe, sustainable, and socially responsible logistics. Our procedures not only comply with emerging legislation they help shape it.

Building Safer Cities Together

Every project presents an opportunity to reduce risks, protect lives, and improve transport safety. Alandale’s cyclist safety initiatives are a testament to our commitment to responsible construction logistics.
